In this interview, the Okarche Warriors’ Head Football Coach Aaron West sat down with CTB Sports Director Derek Darr to discuss defending the state title.
West talked about how the Warriors prepared for the season during the offseason.
“It was a fun time after winning. After baseball was over in the spring, we went back to work this summer… We played a lot of games this summer”, said West. “We got three really good ones back and a lot of guys who worked really hard last year and practiced. We’re playing about 11 to 12 guys right now, so we have a lot of them in rotation, but we had a great summer.”
The coach continued on about how the team is doing so far.
“We’re in pretty good shape right now, but not where we want to be. I think we can get into a lot better shape. The depth provides [the] guys a chance to rest a minute or two, here and there so we can keep the pace up…and it gives guys experience.”
Okarche is having an incredible season. They are off to a 3-0 start winning by an average of 53 points per game. Okarche also brought back 3 CTB Sports All Stars from last year’s team including Hunter Mueggenborg, Jett Mueggenborg, and Easton Roby.
