In this interview, CTB Sports Director Derek Darr sat down with Okarche Head Boys Basketball Coach Aaron West to discuss the State Tournament.
West began by discussing how winning three straight trips to state gets the team excited.
“It’s an awesome feeling, just a great time for our community and our kids. Our team puts a lot of work into it, we [have] great fan support and that’s what I think Okarche people expect. ”
Upon being asked about star players, Coach West shared that the key to victory was a team effort, before highlighting some star players that stood out.
“It was a great team effort, our guys came in focused from the tip. …but Jeff Mugenberg had a great game, I think he had over 30 points and close to 10 rebounds. Ethan Robey, double digits at 14. Ethan Kirby had 10, Hunter Mugenberg played well; Brett Carnot and Colin Henderson. did a great job bringing intensity….”
