In this interview, CTB Sports Director Derek Darr sat down with Okarche Head Girls Basketball Coach Brett Tahah to discuss making it to the State Tournament.

The coach discussed heading back to the big house and how that boosts the girls’ morale

“It’s just indescribable; the girls played absolutely amazing and to be going back to the big house for the last dance there, it’s just, I couldn’t be more happy for my team.”

The coach continued saying that playing against Seiling prepped the team for future games.

“It helped prepare us for these late playoff run games…I’m so proud of my girls and the effort and energy they brought every single night; [we’re] glad to [play] another week.”

Coach Tahah outlined victory as a team before highlighting some key players on the team.

“It was a total team effort…they have really bought into their roles of that they need to do, but sophomore Callie Kramer had a huge game; I think she had 23 points against Red Oak. Then we had Katie Parham [do] her usual 18 points…Avery Schieber stepped up huge for us defensively. She locked down one of the kids that’s been averaging close to 20 points a game.”

Tahah also discussed some seniors who have been swishing some big buckets.

“Harper White had some big buckets, Scout Payne has brought a whole new look to our team coming back from that (torn) ACL, but it was a total team effort.
