In this interview, CTB Sports Director Derek Darr sat down with the Okarche Head Boys Basketball Coach Aaron West to discuss the Road to the Gold Ball matchups.
The coach began by talking about how the team has been improving.
“We had a lot of guys return from last year. I think after last year’s success, then I think the guys just wanted to continue to build on that…the guys [have] worked hard during the summer, and that carried into the regular season. We got a wealth of experience back and I think the guys are just extremely focused.”
West also described how important the district championships are.
“Everything starts at district. We don’t overlook anybody, coach Deckman and Guffey do a good job with their clubs. Whether you’ve won a lot of games or your team hasn’t won as many games, we treat everybody the same…we work on everybody the same.”
