In this interview, CTB Sports Director Derek Darr sat down with the Pioneer Head Baseball Coach, Dave Reisen, to discuss their rescheduled game for the Merrifield Tournament.
The coach started off by sharing how the team has been performing in the tournament so far.
“I think overall we played really well. We pitched it well, other than maybe one game where it was more defensive than pitching. But on top of that, I was really pleased with our kids because they competed and really fought hard.”
Reisen gave some insight about their opponent: the Chisholm Longhorns.
“I expect to see probably the most talented team in the tournament to take the field…You look at them on the field, and they’ve got athletes at every position. I know they’ve got three or four outstanding pitchers. They’re just a really good ball club and [doing] well in their district play.”
