Plainsmen Show Improvement in Heartbreaking Loss to Mustang

The Enid Plainsmen played phenomenal against an excellent team in Mustang in a huge homecoming matchup. However, they only came away with a moral victory after Mustang stormed back down 2 touchdowns in the 4th quarter to hit a game-winning field goal to defeat the Plainsmen 33-32. Enid was unable to answer with less than a minute left and no timeouts.

However, it was still a strong performance for the Plainsmen, Aiden Robinson was phenomenal at QB consistently driving the ball downfield with a passing attack that spread the ball around. The Plainsmen were missing starting running back Blake Fuksa and the Mustang defense often took away the run-rushing 5-6 defenders most of the game.

Robinson countered the pressure by getting the ball out to his receivers fast. The deciding factors of the game came down to 2 Plainsmen extra points being blocked, there were also some promising drives downfield that the Plainsmen weren’t able to finish.

Other highlights of the game include Keon Young getting 2 pick-sixes on defense. The Plainsmen will look to bounce back with a road trip against a better-than-expected Norman team. Listen to the game, on CTB Sports 1390 KCRC, 1640 KZLS, and the CTB Sports app!
