In this interview, CTB Sports Director Derek Darr sat down with the PC-H Head Boys Basketball Coach Darin Jones to discuss the upcoming matchup with Drummond in the Regional Tournament.
Coach Jones began by discussing some key players and their strengths.
“Caden Tefft shot the ball incredibly well. I think he made five for six three [pointers] in the stretch in the third quarter. Fourth [quarter], he had 22. Micha Westrope was dominant. He had 20 points and 21 rebounds and I think six blocks. And then Jackson, Gabe, Blaine, and Tyson all did what they do best when we played defense. Jackson did a great job guarding Laverne’s best athletes. Laverne was freakishly athletic, I was very pleased.”
Coach Jones also highlighted on the key to the PC-H defense.
“We work on our technique, our rotation, [and] shell drill, but that’s what we hang our hat on. We talked about earlier in the season, and if we were a good defensive basketball team, or a great defensive basketball team, we’d have a chance to win every game. [They] have worked very hard [on] that, and I’m very proud of that.”
