In this interview, CTB Sports Director Derek Darr sat down with the Seiling Head Girls Basketball Coach Brady Hamar to discuss the upcoming State Tournament.
Hamar wanted to begin by highlighting some key players in the Lady Wildcats.
“Teagan Hamer shot really well, I think she ended up at five threes and had 26 points. Kirsten Briggs had 14, shot free throws extremely well…Paige Coons had a big game defensively for us, and so did Bayley Chain and Kim Mandel, so lots of good things.”
The coach emphasizes the importance of their team’s defensive efforts due to their not being as high-powered offensively.
“I think it definitely starts on the defensive side. We’re not as [a] high-powered offensive team as we’ve been. And so we’re not going to go out and score 70 [points] every single night; we knew that all year long. And so our girls have really bought in and focused on defense.”
