The Oklahoma City Thunder are having a phenomenal year, despite dealing with injuries Oklahoma City is 3.5 games ahead of the Houston Rockets for the 1 seed in the Western Conference.
The injury to star big man Chet Holmgren hasn’t seemed to slow down the Thunder who are on pace to get the 1 seed for the 2nd year in a row. However, it could be fool’s gold. While Shai Gilgeous Alexander has been playing great, the Thunder may be relying on spectacular performances from him too often. These performances may not be sustainable in the tougher environment of the postseason.
While the Thunder remain an elite team without Holmgren they may need him healthy to win the championship.
