In this interview, CTB Sports Director Derek Darr sat down with the Timberlake Tigers’ Head Football Coach Brian Severin to discuss the upcoming rematch against the Ryan Cowboys.
Severin began by sharing what the key to success is for this year’s team.
“We got a good bunch of seniors. Carson Shepard, Christopher Dillard, Caleb Barney; those guys are playing extremely well. [They’re] doing a good job of taking care of responsibilities and being good leaders for us. [A] good bunch of juniors: Peigton Pearce, Mavrick Judd, Paxton Glenn, those guys have really stepped up and [are] performing well this year.”
The coach also discussed the game plan against Ryan and how to shut them down.
“They’re very similar to what they were last year. Quarterbacks really good, he’s a good athlete, [and] runs the ball hard. We’re gonna have to do a good job of containing him. They also have a couple of running backs that are pretty quick, so we have our work cut out for us. Being in the semi-finals, that was gonna be expected; playing a good team. We just gotta rise to the occasion and go get it done.”
