Garfield County Man Among 22 COVID-19 Related Deaths Statewide

(Enid, OK) The Oklahoma State Department of Health reported 22 more deaths on Tuesday, including one man from Garfield County, and 2,186 new COVID-19 cases.

There have been 2,240 deaths in Oklahoma in which the virus was the cause or a contributing factor, the OSDH reported.

16 of the 22 deaths reported on Tuesday were in the 65 and older age group including one man in Jackson County, one man in Bryan County, one man in Texas County, one man in Johnston County, one man in Creek County, one woman in Ottawa County, one woman in Tulsa County, one woman in Cherokee County, one man and one woman in Kay County, two women and four men in Oklahoma County.

Four deaths were in the 50-64 age group including one man in Oklahoma County, one woman in Okmulgee County, one man and one woman in Canadian County. The Garfield County death was a man in the 36-49 age group, and one death of a Le Flore County man in the 18-35 age group.

Garfield County has seen 4,999 cases of the virus since March with 459 active cases, according to the OSDH. 4,470 of the total cases in Garfield County have been in Enid, where 384 are active.
