Backstreet Boys first holiday album, A Very Backstreet Christmas will be out on October 14.

Band members AJ McLean and Nick Carter told Variety that they found inspiration in a possibly surprising place… Justin Timberlake’s song, “Can’t Stop The Feeling.”

Carter, said it’s funny because there's all this stuff about Backstreet versus NSYNC, but when it comes down to it, it’s all about good songs. And referring to the movie that the song appeared in… he said they all watched Trolls with their kids.

They both agreed that Justin wrote a really great song that was uplifting and they wanted to do the same thing. So they wrote “Happy Days.”

They said, “Especially with the way the world is right now. It was like, 'Let's put some positive stuff out there.”

The holiday record will feature classics like “White Christmas” and “Winter Wonderland” as well as original music. The first single, a cover of Wham!'s “Last Christmas,” has already been released.
