Andy Serkis To Direct New ‘Lord Of The Rings’ Film About Gollum

Warner Bros. will release a new live-action Lord Of The Rings film focused on Gollum in 2026. The team behind the original trilogy, including Peter Jackson, are onboard as producers and will explore new story lines in the franchise. The project, titled Lord Of The Rings: The Hunt For Gollum, will be directed by Andy Serkis, who will also reprise his role as Gollum. Warner Bros. previously announced plans for multiple films based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s books, including an animated Middle-earth movie called The Lord Of The Rings: The War Of The Rohirrim in December.
