Minnie Driver revealed how “devastated” she was at the 1998 Oscars, after a throwback video showing Matt Damon and Ben Affleck winning Best Original Screenplay for Good Will Hunting was shared to the Movie Schmood Instagram page. At one point in the clip, the camera pans to Driver in the audience.
“My face,” she wrote in the comments section, alongside multiple laughing and crying emojis. When someone commented "Minnie looks so sad," the Circle of Friends actor explained why.
"Matt had ended our relationship a few weeks before this, and was at the Oscars with his new gf… I was devastated," she commented. "Wish I could have celebrated more as it was an amazing moment for all of us, and for this wonderful film!"
