‘Munsters’ Reboot, ‘Car Wash’ Series In Development At Universal

Universal is developing a reboot of The Munsters called 1313 (a reference to the family’s 1313 Mockingbird Lane address), as well as a series adaptation of the 1976 film Car Wash set in Washington, DC. While the 1313 reboot is described as a horror series set within the Universal Monsterverse, the Car Wash series will take a more traditional approach — centering on “an immigrant family’s generational and cultural clashes between father and son and their eclectic group of employees.” The Munsters series is not yet attached to a network or streaming service, but the Car Wash series is already in development at NBC.
