A spokesperson for United Talent Agency told Deadline on Tuesday (November 21st) that they dropped Susan Sarandon as a client, after she spoke during a pro-Palestinian rally in New York over the weekend.

The Thelma & Louise actor has faced criticism for saying, “There are a lot of people that are afraid, that are afraid of being Jewish at this time, and are getting a taste of what it feels like to be a Muslim in this country.”

She added, “People are questioning, people are standing up, people are educating themselves, people are stepping away from brainwashing that started when they were kids.” The Witches of Eastwick actor also thanked “the Jewish community who’s come out to have our backs.”

Sarandon isn’t the only actor facing consequences for speaking out in support of Palestine. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Melissa Barrera will no longer be starring in Scream VII after she tweeted about what’s happening in Gaza.

“Gaza is currently being treated like a concentration camp … Cornering everyone together, with no where to go, no electricity no water,” the Vida actor wrote. “People have learnt nothing from our histories. And just like our histories, people are still silently watching it all happen. THIS IS GENOCIDE & ETHNIC CLEANSING.”
