Garfield County Sees Record High in New COVID-19 Cases Tuesday

(Enid, OK) Garfield County has a single-day record with an increase of 66 new positive cases confirmed by the Oklahoma State Department of Health on Tuesday.

An increase was seen statewide, with 1,364 new COVID-19 cases in Oklahoma. Tuesday’s increase was the third-highest the state has seen overall and the highest since 1,401 case increases were recorded in July. The new cases brought the county’s overall total to 1,908.

Enid saw a rise of 52 cases on Tuesday for a total of 1,768, according to OSDH.

11 deaths were also recorded in the state on Tuesday, including eight in the 65 and older age range and three from the 50-64 age group. Eight of the deaths reported Tuesday were in the 65 and older age group: three men from Cleveland County, men from McIntosh, Creek and Beckham counties and women from LeFlore and McCurtain counties. Three deaths were in the 50-64 age group: a man and woman from Tulsa County and a woman in Kay County.
