Every year Chisholm Trail Broadcasting honors the local football and basketball athletes with an in-person all-star banquet, usually held at the Stride Bank Center. Despite holding this decision off until the final second, we as a group have made the tough decision that it is in the best interest of the athletes and their families to cancel the banquet due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But this doesn’t mean we will not be honoring the athletes.
As the new Sports Director, I was looking forward to my first banquet with these remarkable athletes I had the privilege of covering in my first year here in Enid. I elected to still make that happen and the way I will be doing that is by hosting a virtual banquet.
In the coming weeks a video will be released on all of our Facebook pages and EnidLive.com. The virtual banquet will be hosted by me, Corey Clark, and will include comments about every player from their head coach. The Coach of the Year award will also be announced during the video.
Everyone at Chisholm Trail Broadcasting wants to give our best regards to all the local athletes, their families and especially the Class of 2020 during these “unknown” times.
