Blue Oyster Cult Releasing Album Of Archived Songs

Coming out Friday, April 12, is “Ghost Stories,” a new album of old material from Blue Oyster Cult. Eleven of the 12 previously unreleased songs were recorded by the band’s original lineup between 19878-1983 and preserved by longtime sound engineer George Geranios. The 12th, a cover of the Beatles’ “I Feel Fine,” was recorded during 2016. “Ghost Stories” also includes BOC’s only known studio recording of the MC5’s “Kick Out the Jams,” which was featured on the 1978 live album “Some Enchanted Evening.”

“Ghost Stories” was produced by current band member Richie Castellanos and BOC manager Steve Schenck, who used AI technology to bring the recordings up to date. Former members (and brothers) Albert and Joe Bouchard contributed to the package, which also features the late Allen Lanier.
