Dream Theater is in the studio recording their sixteenth album, their first with co-founding drummer Mike Portnoy in 15 years.
Portnoy, who rejoined last October started the band in 1985 with guitarist John Petrucci and bassist John Myung, and played on 10 albums over a 20-year period.
Petrucci who was 18 when he met Portnoy at Berklee College of Music, told GuitarWorld.com… "Having him back in the band is really special to all of us. I know he's really excited as well.
Dream Theater made the recording announcement by posting a photo on their socials.
