Judas Priest guitarist Glenn Tipton has sold a 50 percent interest and global administration rights to his entire song catalogue. Music Business Worldwide reported, "The acquisition covers Tipton’s songwriting catalog of almost 200 songs as a member of Judas Priest, including works dating back to 1979, beginning with the album Sin After Sin and continuing through to the band’s last studio album, Firepower, released in 2018."
The new deal includes Tipton's classic tunes — either written or co-written for Priest — including such legendary songs as "Breaking The Law," "Heading Out To The Highway," "Hell Bent For Leather," "Living After Midnight," and "You’ve Got Another Thing Coming," among many others.
Glenn Tipton was officially diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2014 — and may have been suffering from it for at least half a decade before that — before he bowed out of the touring cycle behind Priest's 2018 album, Firepower. His replacement on tour was Andy Sneap, who co-produced the album and was a guitarist himself in British bands like Sabbat and Hell.
On March 20th, 2018 Glenn Tipton rejoined his Judas Priest bandmates on stage at Newark, New Jersey's Prudential Center to perform the concert's three-song encore of "Metal Gods," "Breaking The Law," and "Living After Midnight."
The guitarist told us a while back that he feels nothing but pride for the impact Judas Priest has had on rock: ["I'm just proud, really, that — and privileged to be in Priest, y'know?
