Set for release on April 9th is the multimedia Lynyrd Skynyrd: Live At Knebworth ‘76 collection. The set, which spotlights the band's historic August 21st, 1976 performance opening for the Rolling Stones in Knebworth, England, will be available as a DVD/CD, Blu-ray and CD, limited edition two-LP and DVD, as well as a digital video.

According to the press release, "This footage, originally only available via the 1996 film Freebird. . .The Movie, was intercut with interviews and other performance footage. Now Live At Knebworth '76 presents the pure concert experience in its entirety, delivering the show as it happened that day."

The Knebworth show features the final classic 1970's line-up of the band — co-founders Ronnie Van Zant and Gary Rossington, with Allen Collins, Steve Gaines, Leon Wilkeson, Artimus Pyle, Billy Powell, and the Honkettes: Cassie Gaines, JoJo Billingsley, and Leslie Hawkins.

As a bonus, the Blu-ray set also includes the critically acclaimed 2018 documentary If I Leave Here Tomorrow: A Film About Lynyrd Skynyrd.

Back in '76, the late, great Ronnie Van Zant spoke about Skynyrd's then-long history of going wild on the road: ["We get a lot of publicity about bustin' up places an' bein' really mean, or somethin' like that. But, you get really tired, you get really nervous, and you're about to flip out and go over the deep end — just say, 'The hell with it — I quit.' Well, instead of doin' that, I just knock a hole in the wall  — or any way to let energy off, y'know? Once we do that, we get it out of our system and we get a lot of publicity about that. The Who do. But I know a lot of bands — I won't mention their names — that do a lot worse than both of our groups I just mentioned, but they don't get the publicity about it."] SOUNDCUE (:32 OC: . . . publicity about it)
