Peter Frampton has received his share of awards from the music industry over his long career. But on Saturday, September 9, he'll be honored in a different setting as he receives the Myositis Association's Heroes in the Fight 2023 Patient Ambassador Award during the organization's Annual Patient Concert in San Diego. Frampton revealed his diagnosis with Inclusion Body Myositis (IBM), a degenerative syndrome that has atrophied his muscles, during 2019. He has continued to make music and is even touring, though he now plays sitting down. Frampton tells us that he's learning to live with the limitations the disorder puts on him: “It's not thrilling to have IBM, but on the other hand you adapt and I've adapted and I'm enjoying myself. I have to say this is the best period of my life.” :19 (OC: of my life)
Frampton recently announced new dates on his Never Say Never Tour, running from November 9th in Louisville, Kentucky to November 22nd in Nashville, where he resides.
He recently released “Peter Frampton at Royal Albert Hall,” a live album drawn from his concert at the prestigious London venue last November 8th.
