Duran Duran, Queen + Adam Lambert, Rod Stewart, and Diana Ross headlined Saturday's (June 4th) Platinum Jubilee Celebration in London commemorating the 70th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign. Rolling Stone reported Queen + Adam Lambert performed "We Will Rock You," "Don't Stop Me Now," and "We Are The Champions" along with the Royal Marching Band.
Duran Duran's two-song set was comprised of "Notorious" and "Girls On Film," with Rod Stewart tackling his 1982 hit "Baby Jane" along with the “official song” of the Platinum Jubilee — Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline." Diana Ross performed her 1985 Bee Gees-written and produced UK chart-topper "Chain Reaction," the title track to her 2021 album Thank You, and the classic "Ain't No Mountain High Enough."
Duran Duran's recent live shows have been attracting a diverse audience filled with both old and new fans. Keyboardist Nick Rhodes told us that the group's concerts appeal to fans of all different generations, particularly those excited to see the original lineup together again: ["There's obviously a lot of fans who have been with us from the very beginning, or been with us at the beginning, gone away and come back. Rod Stewart admitted to us that he never thought he'd achieve so much through singing when he first turned professional: ["Oh, when I first came into it, I was getting paid 35 pounds a week. And I thought, 'Well, 35 pounds a week,' y'know, 30 years ago, was a lot of money. I thought, 'Well, this is absolutely wonderful.
