Sly & The Family Stone will be the subject of a new documentary by the Roots' Questlove, according to Variety. The still-untitled project follows Questlove's 2021 directorial debut, Summer Of Soul (. . . Or, When The Revolution Could Not Be Televised), which scored both the Sundance Film Festival's Grand Jury Prize and Audience Award..
Questlove said in a statement announcing the project, "It goes beyond saying that Sly's creative legacy is in my DNA. It’s a black musician’s blueprint. To be given the honor to explore his history and legacy is beyond a dream for me." No release date for the new doc has been announced.
