Artimus Pyle Set Release Lynyrd Skynyrd Tribute Album Featuring Sammy Hagar And Dolly Parton

Former Lynyrd Skynyrd drummer, Artimus Pyle is releasing a new album of the band’s classic songs. It will feature 12 different artists joining him, such as Sammy Hagar on “Simple Man,” and Dolly Parton on “Freebird”. Billy Ray Cyrus, Ronnie Dunn of Brooks & Dunn and several other Country artists, also contribute.

He plans to release one of the songs on October 20th, the 46th anniversary of the tragic plane crash that killed 3 members of the band, their road manager, and 2 pilots.

Artimus Pyle’s live debut with Skynyrd was at Jacksonville’s Sgt Pepper’s Club in 1974. He recorded on four albums, Nuthin’ Fancy, Gimme Back My Bullets, Street Survivors, and their live album, One More for the Road.
