Britney Spears has separated from her husband of just over one year, Sam Asghari. TMZ claims the couple had a major fight last week in which Asghari confronted Spears about rumors that she cheated on him. While it's unclear if those rumors are true, the rift between them is deep enough that Asghari moved out of his home with Spears and has already filed for divorce, citing “irreconcilable differences.” He's asking for spousal support and attorney's fees, but Spears is protected by an ironclad prenup.
TMZ went on to claim that there has been “deep trouble” between the two for months, and that Spears has “gotten physical” with Asghari during several serious fights. The couple started dating back in 2016, and Sam has repeatedly defended his wife from public criticism over her erratic behavior since being freed from her conservatorship. In May, he even blasted a documentary about Spears that suggested their marriage was in trouble. But TMZ writes that he is “frustrated” and is “at wit's end.”
