Cher denied hiring four men to abduct her son Elijah Blue Allman to prevent him from reconciling with his estranged wife, telling People, “That rumor is not true.” She didn't explain, but referenced his history of drug abuse. “I’m not suffering from any problem that millions of people in the United States aren’t,” she said. “I’m a mother. This is my job — one way or another, to try to help my children. You do anything for your children. Whenever you can help them, you just do it because that’s what being a mother is.” Cher also talked about her boyfriend Alexander “A.E.” Edwards. “I hate when people say people are special, but lots of people say I’m special, so I can say that he’s special.
