Demi Lovato opened up about her sobriety and sexuality in the latest issue of Glamour.

The magazine’s cover girl said she hasn’t completely given up all illicit substances, following her near fatal overdose in 2018. She told Glamour that after learning to embrace balance in her eating disorder recovery, the “all-or-nothing world” of sobriety confused her.  Although she no longer takes opiods like the ones that nearly killed her, she does indulge in the occassional drink or joint.

The singer also revealed that as she’s gotten older she’s realized how queer she really is. She said, “I hooked up with a girl and was like, ‘I like this a lot more.’ It felt better. It felt right. Some of the guys I was hanging out with—when it would come time to be sexual or intimate, I would have this kind of visceral reaction. Like, ‘I just don’t want to put my mouth there.’

"It wasn’t even based on the person it was with. I just found myself really appreciating the friendships of those people more than the romance, and I didn’t want the romance from anybody of the opposite sex.”
