John Mayer told Andy Cohen on Tuesday (February 23rd) that he almost cried five times while watching the documentary, Framing Britney Spears.
The 43-year-old singer said, “I was on the edge of tears five times. Because if you understand what this business, slash industry, slash lifestyle does to a person…To go through this and come out the other side OK, is to have infinite grace for those who struggle with it.”
Mayer has been linked romantically to several high-profile women in the music industry such as Jessica Simpson, Katy Perry, and Taylor Swift.
Twitter users were quick to point out that Mayer was not known to treat the women he dated well, with one writing, "Along the same lines as the Britney doc, I just listened to Jessica Simpson’s autobiography ‘Open Book’ and she basically got treated like sh*t by everyone, forced into a borderline eating disorder by record execs, and then emotionally abused by JOHN MAYER who is a toxic POS".
