Lorde released a video online covering the Britney Spears song, “Break the Ice.” In it, she’s wearing a red, two piece, skin-tight, bra-like, crop top with leggings that fans quickly compared to Spears’ outfit in her “Oops” video.
One of Lorde’s postings mixes the song with “Fallen Fruit” from her new album, Solar Power.
Considering Spears’ very public battle with her conservatorship and the way the songs were mixed, It’s obvious that it’s Lorde’s way to salute to Britney Spears.
The video was shot by Vogue in conjunction with Lorde’s picture on the October cover of the magazine.
