Melissa Etheridge will lead a new docuseries called Melissa Etheridge: I’m Not Broken that focuses on female prisoners and addiction. The two-part series, set to air on Paramount+, will center around Etheridge as she writes an original song inspired by letters from five female residents of the Topeka Correctional Facility in Kansas, her hometown. Etheridge plans to create and perform the song for these women. The docuseries aims to shed light on the challenges faced by incarcerated women, substance abuse, generational trauma, grief, and healing. Etheridge hopes her journey and the stories shared in the series will raise awareness and provide support to those struggling with addiction.
