Pharrell Williams surprised fans by releasing a new album, Black Yacht Rock Vol. 1: City Of Limitless Access, on his website as a birthday gift. The 10-track project showcases Pharrell’s impeccable production and smooth vocals, exploring the breezy vibes of yacht rock. Although details about the album are scarce, the album artwork suggests it may be credited to a group called Virginia. Pharrell has not actively promoted the album on his website or social media, and his name is not officially attached to the project. This release marks Pharrell’s first solo album since 2014’s Girl, and he has also collaborated on other singles this year. In addition to his music, Pharrell has movie projects in the works, including an animated Lego biopic and a collaboration with Michel Gondry set in Virginia Beach, which was his hometown in the late ’70s.
