Main Street Enid’s Partnerships & Sponsorships Specialist Charlet Ringwald recently had an interview with EnidLIVE! to talk about the Lights up the Plains event coming on Friday, November 24.

She started by giving a light explanation and welcoming everyone to come to the event. “We’re really excited about this year’s Enid Lights up the Plains. It is our 30th Year Celebration of this big kickoff to the Christmas Season so we’re hoping that everybody in Enid and the surrounding areas will come join us in downtown Enid to celebrate this 30th year.”

She went on to talk about the times for the events, as well as an improvement. “There’s gonna be Black Friday shopping all day downtown at our different boutiques and shops.” She went on to say “At 5 pm, that’s when all the festivities start. 6 pm is the parade of lights, and then our fireworks grand finale is at 7:15 (pm) right after the parade . . . Ryan Sudlow from Sudlow Engineering has been helping us upgrade our tree of lights . . . ”

Charlet talked about her favorite thing about Lights up the Plains. “It has to be the fireworks. So every year . . . it is really tense cause we’re putting on one of the biggest events in our community, and it’s the big kickoff before the holiday season; it’s a long-running tradition and so there’s a lot of pressure on us.”
