Community leaders from Enid and throughout Oklahoma gathered to commemorate the groundbreaking of a new hanger for Woodring Regional Airport. Enid Mayor David Mason gave remarks about the groundbreaking and the importance of the city of Enid’s partnership with Vance Airforce Base.

Mason believes keeping Woodring Regional Airport up to date helps to further that partnership. On display during the groundbreaking ceremony was the Altus Trophy which is awarded each year to a town or city that houses an Airforce Base for their strong relationship with the base.

The city of Enid is the most recent recipient of the award. Also in attendance at the event was state senator Roland Pederson R-Burlington who spoke with Enidlive about the event.
