Enid Mayor George Pankonin has partnered with Oklahoma Senator Jim Inhofe and the United States Army Corps of Engineers Tulsa District commander, Colonel Scott Preston to build the 74-mile pipeline from Enid to Kaw lake. The expected cost of the project was originally 13 million dollars.

But thanks to a partnership with Senator Jim Inhofe of the Public Works Committee and the Water resources development act, the expected costs have been cut to 5 million dollars. Enid Mayor George Pankonin was thrilled with the development saying

“We greatly appreciate the assistance of Senator Inhofe and staff and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for their efforts in saving the City of Enid over $8 million dollars with the legislation and implementation!”.
