Kingfisher Woman Among 35 COVID-19 Deaths Statewide, 2.3k Cases Announced

(Enid, OK) The Oklahoma State Department of Health reported 2,320 new cases of COVID-19 and 35 deaths, including a Kingfisher woman, on Thursday.

Garfield County’s COVID-19 case numbers increased by 16 for an overall total of 6,754 since March, with 406 active cases within the county.

Of the deaths reported, 27 were in the 65 and older age group including three men and four women in Tulsa County, two women and one man in Oklahoma County, two men and one woman in Muskogee County, one man and one woman in Creek County, two Rogers County men, one man each in Kay, Caddo, Garvin, Pottawatomie, Le Flore, Wagoner and Cleveland counties and one woman each in Kingfisher, Washington and Johnston counties.

The remaining deaths were all in the 50-64 age group including one man each in McClain, Oklahoma and Nowata counties and one woman each in Creek, Caddo, Bryan, Carter, and Stephens counties.

There have been 3,423 deaths in Oklahoma where COVID-19 was the cause or a contributing factor, according to the OSDH.

Other Northwest Oklahoma county case increases on Thursday included 14 in Blaine, nine in Kingfisher, four in Woodward, three in Noble, two in Major. one in Alfalfa and one in Grant County.
