Madison Wilson Interview Here.

Historical Interpreter Madison Wilson from the Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center recently had an interview with EnidLIVE! about the upcoming Farm Day event they are hosting.

She started off by talking about the event as a whole. Quoted by Wilson, “Family Farm Day is a really cool event that we’ve got going on.” She went on to say “It’s to celebrate the long-standing tradition of agriculture in the region, and so we’ve got all kinds of different things from pumpkin painting, corn grinding, we’ll have a petting zoo provided by Daze in a Maze, miniature cattle 3B Rock and Miniature Cattle, pony rides from Hopes and Harmony, and so much more.”

Madison also spoke about the inspiration for the event. As stated by her, ” Our mission is to share the history and culture of Northwestern Oklahoma since we are the Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center and so, agriculture has been a large part of this region’s history, and it has shaped the region as we know it.”

Ms. Wilson also talked about History Alive! event they do. As quoted by Madison, “We’ve got the village out there and it’s really neat interpretive space; and the goal is to interpret life as how it would’ve been in the early days of the region . . . to share the history of the region as it would’ve been in the late 19th century when the Cherokee Strip was open for public settlement.”
