(Oklahoma City, OK) Protests all over the country have been growing as the Black Lives Matter movement looks for change in the system of policing. This past weekend saw a movement organized by college students featuring a state representative and former state senator. Former state senator Anastasia Pittman along with current state representative Ajay Pittman were among many who gave speeches to the hundreds in attendance.
Cooperation by both protesters and police officers was key as the group marched from the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame to the Harkins Theater. Protesters were peaceful while police officers provided a presence but kept their distance.
Speakers not only called for a change in policy but also helped those in attendance register to vote.
