(Enid, OK) A Sonic employee was stabbed on Thursday night by a man who robbed an employee at knifepoint, according to Enid Police Department reports.

Police are still looking for the man in question in the robbery that occurred at about 8:00 p.m. at the Sonic Drive-In at 905 W. Willow Road, according to a statement to police.

Officers spoke with a 19-year-old female car-hop at the Sonic location and she said that a man walked up and ordered from one of the furthest stalls at the drive-in. When she took his order to him at the stall, he pulled a knife from his pocket and told her to give him all of her money. The car-hop said the man reached into her pocket and took her wallet while still holding her at knifepoint, according to a police spokesman.

An 18-year-old male employee was taking out the trash and heard the car-hop yelling for help while she was being robbed. The robber began running south from the location and the 18 year old chased the robber. The male employee caught up to the robber a few blocks from the establishment, according to police.

The employee was stabbed in the side, by the robber, as he attempted to take back the stolen wallet. The robber was seen fleeing from the scene in a white SUV near Cottonwood and Quincy.

The 18-year-old employee was transported to Integris Bass Baptist Health Center and was later transported to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, where he is in stable condition.

Police are asking anyone, who lives in the area, to check video surveillance cameras between 7:45 and 8:15 p.m. and to contact police if anything is found in the footage. The robber is described as a light-skinned man, about 5’7″ to 5’9″, with a slender build. He was wearing a dark-colored hoodie, jeans and a blue hospital mask.
