According to the Ames Fire Department, the wildfire near Ames Oklahoma is still ongoing as of this morning. The Forestry has established fire lines of 10 firetrucks near the fire in case it continues to spread.
So far the fire has burned 2600 acres, however, no buildings have been destroyed, nor are any expected to be due to the fire being on the other side of the Cimarron River from the town of Ames. The Ames Fire Department expects the fire to burn out on its own.
