Vicki from the Enid SPCA recently had an interview with EnidLIVE! about the upcoming Pet Project Adoption Event. The event will be at Jackson’s of Enid on Saturday, October 28 from 11 am to 3 pm. There will be food trucks, a Trunk or Treat, a pet trick contest, and more. Over 30 pets will be ready for adoption at the event.

She started off by talking about the upcoming adoption event and their trunk or treat. “We’re super excited because we have the adoption event and, as everyone knows, adoptions have been rather slow this summer so, if you’re thinking about getting a new family furry member please come out and see what we have available for you.” She went on to say “We are doing ‘Trunk or Treat’. So we have currently about 18 trunks ready to welcome the trunk or treaters and give out candy.”

Vicki then talked about some foster programs. “We will have information out there about our foster programs, and we always need fosters. And it doesn’t mean you have to foster whatever if you have certain criteria for your household, we will try to gear towards that. Because for every animal that goes into a foster home, we’re able to pull another animal from Enid Animal Welfare and save that animal’s life as well.”

She talked more about where the proceeds will go. “Our funding usually goes towards a lot of different things like medical cases . . . we have donated to some of the different rescues in town such as Merry Melodies, Old Paws Rescue. So anything that we can do that will help the other rescue deal with medical bills, or food costs, or anything along those lines, we will do what we can to help out.”
