(Enid, OK) This past Saturday at approximately 2:40 pm a woman was struck and killed by a train just east of Enid, according to police. The Enid Police Department received a call reporting the accident east of US 412 and 42nd Street where the unknown woman was pronounced dead on the scene.
Yesterday, the victim was identified as Ashley Surrett, age 33 of Enid.
Reports state that the conductor spotted Surrett walking down the bridge no the north side of the highway. Despite attempted warnings, the train collided with the young woman, according to Sargent Roberto Norton of the Enid Police Department.
