1947 - 2024
Larry Wayne McCook was born January 2, 1947, in Wichita, Kansas to Kenneth Earl and Hazel Francis (Meyer) McCook. He passed away peacefully Thursday, March 14, 2024.
A celebration of life will be held at 2PM Sunday, the 17th of March 2024, at Memorial Park Cemetery in the Garden Chapel under the direction of Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home. Rev. John Bizzell will officiate.
Larry’s family moved to Enid when he was very young and he was raised and educated in Enid, graduating from Enid High School in 1965. On December 3, 1965 he married Karen Fore and the couple made their home in Enid.
Larry was a devoted husband, an amazing father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and dear friend to many. He had a gentle and fun-loving spirit, and he cherished time with family and friends.
Larry was a hard worker at various jobs and made his career working for Pillsbury/ADM Milling for over 30 years.
Larry was preceded in death by his father and mother, 2 older brothers (Kenneth & Jerry), older sister Sue and baby sister Betty Jean, as well as his in-laws Neil and Lois Fore.
He is survived by his loving wife, Karen, daughter Lisa and husband Chad Dillingham, son Scott McCook, grandchildren Lucas & Shelby Dillingham, Hanna Dillingham & Fiancé Blake Pennington, Price Dillingham & Fiancé Avery Player, Jacob & Adreiane McCook, Laci McCook, and great-grandchildren Bryson, Payton, Caeleb, Logan, Isabella and Penelope.
He is also survived by sisters Marilyn Ruppenthal & husband Lawres, Beverly Lineback & husband Don, Kathy Patocka and husband Darrell, and Linda Stephens and brothers Mike McCook and wife Sandra, Steve McCook and Richard McCook and many nieces and nephews.
The Family respectfully request that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made in Larry’s honor to the Enid Public School Foundation, c/o Henninger-Hinson Funeral Home.
