Thomas Edward (Tom) Barrett was born to Ellen Sophia Johnson and Harvey Earl Barrett on October 30, 1929, in Roselle Park, New Jersey. Tom joined three older brothers, (Jack, Bill, and Don); two years later, brother Richard was born, completing a Barrett household of five active boys. The family moved to Catonsville, Maryland, a suburb of Baltimore, where they lived on the famous Maple Avenue through their formative years. Tom’s father, a Naval Architect, instilled in all of his boys the value of honest work, and taught all of them the skills which carried through to successful adulthood.

Marilyn Sue (Duckett) Knaus, age 81, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning,January 13th, at Touro Hospital in New Orleans, LA. Marilyn was the granddaughter of original settlers of the Cherokee Strip in Oklahoma through grandparents on both sides of her family. She was born on March 30, 1942, to Audrey Muir Duckett and Harold Frank Duckett.She grew up in Enid, OK and graduated from Enid High School in 1960. She attended Oklahoma State University where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority, before completing her Bachelor of Arts degree in Education at Little Rock University in 1964. That degree fell in line with a family of mostly teachers. She married Darrel Emmett Knaus in 1963. She taught lower and middle school math and/or science in Little Rock, AR, New Orleans, LA, Atlanta, GA, Dallas, TX, and Bedford, TX and the 2005-2006 St. Vincent’s School yearbook was dedicated to her. Marilyn is survived by her daughter Dr. Tracey Ann Knaus and her husband, Mr. Steven Lee Hatley and her grandchildren Delilah Grace Knaus and Emmet Gray Knaus of New Orleans, LA, her son Mr. Robert Frank Knaus, of Plano, TX, and her sister, Mrs. Portia Ann Potts and her husband, Mr. William Potts, IV of Lansdale, PA.
