Richard Dennis Hoopingarner
1950-2023

Please join us in celebrating the life of Richard “Dennis” Hoopingarner at Willow View Church, 3525 W. Purdue Ave, this Saturday, July 1st at 10am.  Dennis was born in Enid Oklahoma on March 1st, 1950 and died at age 73 on June 28th, surrounded by his family.  Dennis had been battling cancer since 2020.  His parents were Milton “Bill” and Gloria Jean Hoopingarner, while later in life, he gained a loving stepfather, Jody Jordan.  He had an aunt Linda, aunt Sis, and uncle Milt.  He had two older brothers, Larry and Billy, one sister, Connie, and a younger brother Jody Dewayne Jordan.  His aunt and their siblings provided him many wonderful nieces and nephews.  He valued hard work, family, and helping others.  He took great pride in a life-long career in carpentry and construction.  His other joys included family, fishing, hunting, and classic cars.  He could fix anything, would help anybody,  and worked hard his entire life to provide for his family.  Dennis graduated from Enid High and served 6 years in the Kansas Army National Guard.  He and his wife, Felicia, had three sons; Jeff, Eric, and Ryan.  Those sons provided him with numerous grandchildren; Evan, Reed, Blake, DJ, Haleigh, Haisley, and Alexis who has given Dennis his first great-grandson Calyx Williams.  His surviving siblings; Connie Oswald and her husband Don, Jody Jordan and his wife Glenda, have been a true comfort over the years, especially after their parents have passed.  Additionally, the family would like to acknowledge the Hospice team who treated Dennis as if he were their loved one.  You were all a blessing!  Thank you Elara Caring Health Care and Hospice.
