Enid Commission honors Bob Klemme before meeting

At the beginning of the Enid City Commission meeting Tuesday night, the city heard a proclamation in honor of the late Bob Klemme, noted for his prominent role in advancing the awareness of the historic Chisholm Trail.

The proclamation was delivered by City of Enid Public Relations director Steve Kime while many in attendance were family and friends to the late historian.

Kime said during the proclamation that Kime “a man that lived to serve others. Giving back to his family, his church, his city, his state, and his country. Truly, Bob Klemme is a monument of a man.”

Notables from the meeting:

– Enid City Commissioners voted to pursue a loan to not exceed $11,000,000 from the Oklahoma Water Resources Board to help refinance a previous loan for a water treatment facility.
– an $865,000 expenditure to lease 3 new garbage trucks for Enid Public Utilities was approved
– a $279,659 expenditure to buy 4 new buses for Enid Public Transportation was approved.
