The Garfield County Criminal Justice Authority met last night in wake of the settlement of the Anthony Huff lawsuit.

They voted unanimously to authorize a payment of $2,884,187.64 after a nearly hour long debate. The settlement of the wrongful death suit was announced on Monday but no plan for where the money would be coming from had been announced.

The board also voted unanimously to withdraw the Jail Administrator offer that was made to Michael Fletcher of the Arkansas Department of Corrections earlier this month. Information became apparent in a background check that was not openly discussed that led to the motion by Larry Rutherford to bring the offer to a vote.
