Congressman Frank Lucas (OK-03) released the following statement after the U.S. House of Representatives passed a short-term Continuing Resolution. Lucas opposed the legislation.

“Congress’ failure to properly provide stable funding for our nation’s federal government reflects the broken process currently plaguing Washington. Instead of buckling down and passing spending bills on time with measured debate, lawmakers, for two decades now, have adopted last-minute, stop-gap measures to fund the federal governmentsaid Congressman Lucas.

Lucas continued, “Too often, our national security and federal government agencies have paid the price for such partisan incompetence. Simply put, failing to tackle spending issues, risking the readiness of our nation’s military, and holding federal agencies in limbo, continues Congress’ irresponsible way of governing. For these reasons, I opposed today’s continuing resolution. Congress must return to regular order.”
