The Enid City Commissioners will hold their monthly meeting this evening and will discuss the Kaw Lake water pipeline project and the possibility of using eminent domain to be able to start the project.

During the meeting, the commissioners will discuss potentially using the power of eminent domain so as to clear the land needed for the project.

Almost all of the remaining property owners in the way of the project have accepted terms or are close to doing so but at least 2 owners have resisted offers.

Eminent domain is the right of a government or its agent to expropriate private property for public use, with payment of compensation and typically isn’t considered until all other options are exhausted.
